Summer layout with Oasis - Crate Paper

Hi there! I am back with my first layout created with the fun Crate Paper Oasis collection. I love this colorful and tropical collection so much, every little pieces reminds me of the hot summer. I mainly start my projects with choosing the papers, but this time it was so hard so I used one of my favourite technique. I cut out a heart background cut file by Inna Moreva with Silhouette Cameo and backed the hearts with different patterned papers. I mixed 12x12 and 6x6 papers depending on their pattern.

During the process I tried to balance the colors and patterns. Even if it looks random, I carefully planned the order of the papers. My idea was to create a colorful cavalcade behind my selfie. Once the background was ready I place it on the neutral Spring Break paper. After this I started to embellish the layout.

  

First I found the perfect place for the chipboard title. Then, I gathered small embellishments like Puffy Stickers, Buttons and Cardstock Stickers on several places to create the visual triangle.

The left side seemed to be empty, so I added a gold Die-Cut flamingo and a fun camera Chipboard. They are quite big elements but they don’t take away the focus from the photo.
