Happy Heart Mini Album - Crate Paper

2017/03/01

Hi there! It’s Flóra here. Today I am sharing a pretty mini album with some tips made with new Crate Paper goodies. One year ago we had fun with my niece and took few photos of her. I really like these moments, because we always having some nice chit-chat during photo shooting. I usually don’t give her instruction as I don’t want plastic smiles so we are just talking and I try to catch her nature face and smile.

I printed out some those photos and created a mini book with them. I didn’t have lot of time, but wanted to make a really girly and lovely present for her. The Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection was a perfect solution. First of all I cut 8”x6” (21x15 cm) papers from pinkish and mint pattern papers, then I fold them on half. I alternately used a busy and a simple papers to create balance. Don’t be afraid to use those busy floral papers from the collection. Only take care to keep the pages clean and simple. I suggest to use one bigger element in contrast color.

I match all the photos with one paper, adhered them on the page and decorated the other side. I used lots of flowers, butterflies, birds from chiboard, sticker sheets and ephemera pack. When every page was ready I glue the them together. It’s a super easy and fast way for book binding. Then I cut a 6” high paper and fold them on two points to create the saddle of my book. The width of the paper depends on how thick is the album.

After the book was done I started to play with embellishments and compose the cover. I layered one more patterned paper on the front and back of the album to strengthen the covers. I even added a Phrases sticker on the saddle, just to imitate a book look.

Here is a gif to see how the pages are following each other!
